Jealousy can be perceived as those feelings you have when your relationship is in jeopardy, and the emotion is giving rise to a very negative force. It can be as destructive as infidelity, perhaps even more so, because the struggle to overcome jealousy is ongoing. Stopping your jealousy will take time and a lot of effort. It won't happen overnight, but you can do it.

There are Always reasons for Jealous Behavior

If you are feeling insecure in your relationship, is it because you are having negative thoughts about the commitment made between you and your partner? Suspicions may have arisen for some reason, and they may even be baseless, but the uncertainty erupts into distrust and the feelings just won't go away. You may be fearful of the loss of love and respect in your relationship and doubting your own self worth. You may be very controlling because of the mistrust you harbor. Just a little thing, such as your partner speaking to the opposite sex might spark a jealous reaction. If you concentrate your efforts on identifying the causes, you will learn that stopping jealousy is possible.

What Can You Do

When chronic jealousy is present in a relationship it can be disastrous. Like infidelity it can create situations that are almost insurmountable. A once loving relationship can turn into a horror story that does not have a happy ending. So it is important that every effort be made to prevent jealousy from taking hold. Stopping jealousy is possible, and controlling it will be easier once you discover its causes.

Acknowledging your jealousy and realizing where it comes from is the first step. If you feel it is partner related, then communicating may be the answer. Sometimes a suspicion can be the cause, even if baseless. Your partner has the right to know of your feelings of distrust and help you dispel them. If you both really care about each other, these emotions of jealousy can be worked out. Learn to value yourself and improve your self confidence. Be who you are with all your own uniqueness and talents. In stopping jealousy, you will be taking control, and entering a world of positive thoughts and results

What can be done to Save Your Relationship?

There are things that you can do to help the jealous feelings you exhibit. If you have figured out the cause, then it is time to react differently and concentrate on solving it rather than spinning out of control. Being crazy can drive your partner crazy as well. Your partner is finding it difficult being around you because of your highly jealous nature. This will cause problems that you do not want. Get rid of the negativity and try to stay positive in your thoughts and actions. Stopping jealousy is possible if you change your behavior and modify it to make trust in the relationship stronger. Try talking with your partner and let your feelings be known so that there is an understanding of what you are going through. By you both working on the jealousy issue, it may strengthen the relationship and put you at ease.

You can rise above the mistrust, imagined or not, and the pain and suffering that go along with it. Stop comparing yourself to others, and realize your own self worth.
