How To Look Good In Front Of The Guys With Groomsman Gifts

By Aaron Hu

As the groom you have basically been the guy just nodding your head and saying "yes honey" for the majority of the wedding planning process and only dropping a comment here or there to make sure your bride stays within budget. However, when it comes to picking gifts for your half of the wedding party it's not a responsibility that you can foist off on somebody else. You also can't just give the groomsmen what your bride is giving her friends. Nuh-uh, no dice. If you don't want to be laughed out of your own wedding you've got to find them something they will actually like. Here are a few helpful ideas for choosing gifts for your groomsmen and best man while making you look good doing it.

Take into considerations the people you are dealing with. These guys are most likely your close buddies, brothers, and or a couple of older male relatives depending on your preference. If there are a couple of generations making up your group you will want that considerations strongly weighted. So, a good place to start would be with age appropriate gifts. Maybe a flask for that older relative and nice watch for the younger guys. Keeping in mind the age make up of the groomsmen will guide you to good gift choices

When in doubt you can always give gadgets. Find electronics or other high tech gifts that the guys might like. Of course you need to keep your choices within budget but don't go too far the other way either. Find good value for your money. Fortunately the group is relatively small so you should be able to afford decent gifts for each guy.

Find gifts that you know they can use. If a gift is given for purely sentimental reasons you can be sure it will get lost in the pile of can't throw out junk every guy collects. Look for useful gifts like a planner or really nice pen. Even shot glasses or money clips are great ideas. The sentimental part comes later as each time they use it they will be reminded of your big day.

Personalize it. If you want to make your presents memorable then have them engraved. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant, a few words like "Thanks for being here on the biggest day of my life" with your wedding date will suffice. Everyone likes a gift that is specially chosen and made for them.

Finally ask for input from the wives or girlfriends about what are the top ten gifts the have been wanting recently. Some of them may be outside your price range but some of them can be great starting places when thinking of presents to give. Also get your bride involved. Sometimes it may not be wise to go and directly ask your friend's wife or girlfriend these things especially if your future spouse can do it better. Also quid pro quo offer to ask the bridesmaid's guys for gift ideas that way you help the bride out and make her more willing to get you the information you need

In the end it is not as hard as you think to find suitable gifts for groomsmen and your best man. You know these people well. Use that knowledge and be a bit creative with it. You will be sure to find something that will impress them and show your appreciation.
