Getting Over a Relationship:How to Get Over a Relationship Breakup

By Paul Lindquist

The process of getting over a relationship break up is one of the most difficult you will ever go through. Most of us have to endure a break up at least once in our lives, but if you are going through one right now, that is no consolation.

Here is some help getting over a relationship breakup that you can use to pick up the pieces and move on with your life:

1. Spend some time collecting your thoughts

A vital initial move in getting over a relationship breakup is to spend some time away from others organizing and collecting your thoughts. Probably you are experiencing a bunch of different emotions, and speaking to others and getting lots of differing opinions may not be the best thing.

2. Look positively at your ex

This might not be easy. At this point, you certainly you have some hard feelings about your ex. Despite that, a big move in getting over a relationship breakup is to look at your ex in a positive light.

Focus on the things he/she did right and maintain a good relationship with them. You never know, you may be able to reconcile in the future. Keeping a positive view of your ex and maintaining good relations with them will make future reconciliation a lot greater possibility-if that's what you want.

3. Spend time working on yourself

Now that you have organized your thoughts and feelings and adopted a right view of your ex, the next step in the process of getting over a relationship break up is to take your mind off of the relationship and focus on doing things to make yourself better.

Think about getting involved with a hobby you always wanted to do, go out with friends, perhaps do some charity work. Do things that will make a positive change in your life.
