Funny Wedding Speeches

By Joshua Treehorn

While a great many brides, grooms and their relatives are more traditional than others, and would like to listen too thoughtful and cultured addresses, many other people like hearing funny wedding speeches. If your family and invitees are these sorts of people, an absorbing wedding speech is perfectly worthy provided you don't pass judgement, embarrass, or use vulgar words. Don't forget, it doesn't matter how you're associated to or related to the bride or groom, or if you're the bride or bridegroom and wish to make amusing statements, as long as your are discreet about it.

Before you set up your speech, attempt to consider those RSVP's that were retuned and the age group of your guests. If they are mostly seasoned with just a small amount of young individuals, don't seek to say humorous gags or anecdotes an older group may not understand. Try to keep from offending any person in your words as this individual will never forget or may never forgive you for embarrassing them at your wedding. It's also a good idea not to combine intimate jokes with amusing or funny accounts. If you're the best man and you know the bridegroom spewed at the fraternity party each weekend, the wedding party and guests don't need to be made aware this, so stear clear from matters that you and only the other person know about.

If you intend to provide a funny wedding speech, attempt to use some one-liners to begin your speech. A suitable joke for a man such as the dad of the groom, best man or other male relative might be "supporting every prosperous man, there's a woman, and behind every defeated man, there are two!" An amusing one-liner for the mom of the bridegroom might be, "congrats to my son, I've always said he had his dad's wits because I still have my own!" Carry out some research on funny wedding one-liners for your address and you'll find there are numerous. If you've attended a marriage of late and enjoyed some of the jokes employed there, try and make a mental note of them and try to duplicate them with a twist of your own.

Don't forget humorous times that everyone knows about is another good idea for a wedding words to bring laughs. If almost everyone at your wedding attended last year's family get-together and the individual you are speaking about dropped off next to the dog and everyone took photographs of it, tell everyone there about that for some smiles. Even invitees who weren't at your family get-together will consider this amusing provided you stear clear from private tales that only you and on other knows, you'll be okay.

Engage a relation or friend if you intend on delivering a funny wedding speech as they can in all probability help you to come up with some respectable themes that will not shock anyone. Your goal is to make people laugh softly, not get red-faced, so take your time when looking into your funny wedding speech and you'll probably come up with numerous excellent thoughts that people will remember and express joy about.
