Selecting Silk Wedding Flowers For The Big Day

By Louise Penfold

Getting married is such a paramount event in one's life, and being so, you want everything to look perfect, including the flowers. You do not want to stress over flowers that can get droopy or wilt before your guests arrive, and so you will find that silk flowers will compliment any wedding wonderfully.

Silk flowers that are made well can be an enormous success at your wedding reception, or even in your bouquet. If you take some time to select the right flowers, you can get some splendid results that will make you happy. Try to determine what the best choice of flowers for you will be to achieve the look you are going for.

When you think that doing a single type of silk flower is going to be too staid or too boring, make sure that you consider how a second type of silk flower might look. If you already have one type of flower with a large and heavy head, why not look for a second supportive type of flower with multiple tiny blooms? Consider how nicely white silk roses might go with tiny golden flowers or how a more vibrant lavender or red tulip might be set off with smaller buds of pure white. Use your imagination and consider what catches your eye.

Think about how many arrangements you need and how you can spread the flowers out. Each arrangement will usually do very well with two primary flowers and then a series of smaller flowers. If you want a look that is less simple and busier, consider getting five or six flowers that are all about the same size that can be bundled together into a more elaborate type of arrangement. Remember that you should think about how some greenery will fit into the scene, which can be a good way to dampen down the effect of several bright flowers.

Another thing to consider is how many flower arrangements you need and how you can spread them out. A good effect is to have two main types of flowers and then various smaller flowers. If you are going for a look that is more elaborate, you may want to get five or six flowers that are similar in size that can be bunched together for a more intricate type of arrangement. Do not forget that adding greenery to enhance the background of the flowers is a great idea, as it will tone down the effect of all the bright flowers.

Choosing the right flowers for your wedding can be something of a trial, but remember that it never has to be harder than selecting out a series of beautiful silk flowers.
