Wedding Photography - How to Succeed In the Business

By Anthony Clark

The wedding photography industry is a competitive one. This article will provide beginning photographers with tips on how to do well in the industry.

(1) Get in place an effective, efficient ordering system online, if your plan is to do destination weddings. It is obvious that your studio will not receive visits from people that are from out of town. Consider doing orders over the Internet. Think about using an additional vendor to handle the sales and orders.

2) Develop working relationships with different wedding vendors to increase the referrals to your photography business. This can include hotels, honeymoon resorts, bridal services, and caterers, to name just a few. Offer to take portraits at no charge, as well as complimentary prints and consultations with your vendors. For instance, with a resort, you should offer to take suite or portrait photos at no charge. Make sure you are on the head of their preferred vendor referral list. Watch for new businesses or organizations that are starting up in your area and contact them to inquire about putting you on their lineup of preferred vendors.

(3) Provide High Quality (this should be obvious). The meaning of this is the production of images that are exposed properly and are edited with correct colors. Devote time to create lovely books.

4) Above all, have the attitude that you will do whatever has to be done, to make the wedding go smoothly. Do not hesitate about going to the store, prior to the wedding, to get something for the bride, even though you are just there to photograph the wedding. Do not stick to just doing your job of photography. If you assume added responsibilities, this will improve your good name in the business and increase your referrals as a result.

(5) Make an effort to really connect with your clients. There are plenty of talented photographers in the business. An extra element of service and comfort is added when you connect on a human level.

If you adhere to the preceding advice, you can boost your success as a photographer in the competitive field of wedding photography.

Hints On How To Have A Successful Wedding Photography

By Patrick Anderson

Aside from the person who actually conducts your wedding ceremony, the wedding photographer is possibly the most critical element of your wedding. The photographer is the one who will be recording your special day and striving to capture all the memories on film. It is very important that you check first the work of different photographers so you will be able to choose the best one whose style and vision matches what you wish to have on your wedding day.

So that the photo sessions are smooth, here are a few tips:

1. Write down all the shots you hope to get. Specify exactly what you want. List exactly who should be in the pictures at specific times and places. It is necessary to determine the amount of coverage you prefer as well. The wedding day can be divided into four photographic sessions which are: the pre-wedding photos, the ceremony, the organized set shots or location shoot, and the reception.

2. Tell them what you want! Instruct people where to go and when to be at the photo shoot. Notify them in advance about what to wear, where they need to be, and when they need to be there.

3. Ensure that both you and the wedding photographer clearly understand what you need, and that everything is stated in writing and that you sign it.

4. Respect the procedures. Of course, this day is yours. However if you are having a chaotic experience, just think about what the photographer is going through trying to capture all of the chaos in the midst of him for a photo. Members of the bridal party, family members, friends, relatives -- everyone is standing around, chatting and generally getting in the way.

Adherence to the preceding outline will allow you to relax while ensuring everything happens as it should. You can make certain that the ceremony begins with no delay and that everybody arrives at the reception with plenty of food to go around. Treat the wedding photographer well, as he has the responsibility for recording your day, and you will like the results.

How to Fix a Relationship: 4 Questions You Must Ask

By Paul Lindquist

How to fix a relationship when it is clearly broken is very hard and will involve asking tough questions. The challenge is that coming up with the best questions to ask to repair a relationship might be hard even when you are thinking clearly.

Assuming you truly have a strong desire to learn how to fix a relationship, it is still human nature to avoid asking hard questions. The preferred path is just pretending that there aren't any problems in our relationship and going on with life.

Deciding to avoid confronting the problems with your relationship will not cause them to go away. The first thing you need to know about how to fix a relationship is that it takes work! I'll be bold here-if you fail to confront a serious problem in your relationship after you have learned about it, you are not acting responsibly.

So, here are the 4 questions you need to ask if you want to know how to fix a relationship:

1. What do you desire from the relationship?

It is critical that you and your partner ask this question sometime in the initial stages of the relationship. It is critical because if you don't know what your partner expects from the relationship, how do you know if you will be compatible together?

2. At what point in our relationship did we have our best moments together?

This second question on how to fix a relationship should be asked to see how each of you views the relationship. If you pinpoint different times during the relationship as your best times, then this could be a good indicator of when things got off track.

3. What parts of the relationship can you point to that you are currently not satisfied with?

This third question on how to fix a relationship should be answered gently. What I mean is, avoid blaming each other for the things that are wrong and try to keep from letting your emotions run too high. You simply need to know where each of you stands, and knowing what you are dissatisfied with is crucial in determining this.

4. In what direction do you see the relationship moving?

The final question toward knowing how to fix a relationship is to learn what direction each party thinks the relationship is going. The answer to this question will be helpful in knowing what shape the relationship is really in. If you both believe the relationship is headed in the wrong direction and is in danger of failure, then knowing this is necessary in order to fix what's broken.
